Today could be the last day for Americans to enjoy Tik Tok.
Trump has been mulling over the decision to ban the app for a while now, however he told a reporter on Air Force One on Friday night, “Well, I have that authority … I can do it with an executive order …”
He reportedly followed up by saying, “We’re banning them from the United States.”
As for why Trump is so anti Tik Tok, the app is owned by a Chinese company and Trump is determined to look ‘strong’ on China ahead of the election. He, and many, believe the company is harvesting Americans’ data.
In a video released by Tik Tok today, the company says that it has employed 1,500 people in the United States and plans to hire 10,000 more over the next three years.
We’ll see if Trump actually goes through with it.
