We told you in December 2018 that the future of The Wendy Williams Show was uncertain as a result of her health and personal struggles, and now sources exclusively tell www.lovebscott.com that the upcoming season 11 will be its last.
“This was an extremely difficult season to get through for the staff and Wendy herself, obviously. With the show’s renewal set to end after the 2019-2020 season, everyone thinks it’s the perfect time to say goodbye move on. Wendy has enough going on as it is and honestly no one, including Wendy, is sure she can even make it through season 11. Not to mention, advertisers consider her to be a ‘risk’ due to her unplanned hiatuses and extended breaks. It’s very likely the show won’t be back.”
If you recall, we were the first to tell you that Debmar-Mercury had been quietly shopping Jerry O’Connell’s talk show around for quite some time. The frequent ‘Wendy Show’ guest and sometimes “guest host” finally got his own show, ‘The Jerry O’Connell’ Show’ picked up and it will be airing its first run on FOX this summer — during Wendy’s break.
The writing is on the wall. If all goes well and ‘The Jerry O’Connell Show’ gets picked up past this summer test run, we bet they’ll use the final season of the ‘Wendy Show’ audience as a lead-in for Jerry’s show. After that, Wendy’s done and Jerry’s show will air in its time slot.
Since Wendy is an executive producer on Jerry’s show, it’ll be a win-win for everyone.

On today’s season 10 finale, Wendy alluded to her show’s uncertain future by saying: “Um, I’m not doing this show forever, but I certainly will be back for season 11.”
