Image Control: Beyoncé & Kanye West Request to Have Pictures Removed From the Internet

Pepsi Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show

I understand being very particular about your image, but when you’re a global superstar you have to expect that people will be taking pictures at any moment you make a public appearance. In today’s age, it’s to be expected that those pictures will hit the internet almost immediately.

After BuzzFeed published a story that included photos and gifs titled, “The 33 Fiercest Moments From Beyonce’s Halftime Show,” they received a call and subsequent email from Bey’s publicist who kindly asked them to remove the photos she deemed “unflattering.”

Here are two examples of the images Beyonce’s publicist referred to as “unflattering” (click over to BuzzFeed to see the rest):

I don’t really see what the big fuss is about.

In related news, Kanye West is having a similar issue, only he’s been requesting Getty images from his 12-12-12 Sandy Benefit show to be removed. Nobody is 100% sure as to why, but most are assuming it has to do with the fact that he wore a skirt and recently he’s been catching a lot of heat from the hip-hop community for pioneering the ‘skirt movement’.

I feel like in the days where fake photoshopped pictures are circulated as if they’re the real thing, a few bad shots or choice wardrobe regrets should be the last of people’s concerns.
